Patrick McDonnell

Patrick C. McDonnell is an associate attorney with Michaelson Law. His practice primarily includes general civil and commercial litigation in Nevada’s state and federal courts.

Formerly an award-winning investigative newspaper reporter and editor, Patrick graduated cum laude from the William S. Boyd School of Law at UNLV. While at Boyd, he was on the Dean’s Honor List and was the lead articles editor for the Nevada Law Journal. He was also honored with the Carl W. Tobias Award for Excellence in Writing, and has won CALI awards for earning the highest grades in his Pretrial Litigation, Criminal Procedure-Adjudication, and Settling Legal Disputes courses.

While still in law school, Patrick gained his initial experience in the field as a mediator and as a full-time summer extern for Eighth Judicial District Court Judge Kenneth C. Cory where he effectively served as an assistant law clerk to the judge. Patrick also worked as a law clerk for a local personal injury firm, a national trial firm, and a general civil practice firm prior to being licensed to practice law in Nevada and handling all types of civil litigation, commercial litigation. Patrick has won numerous awards and recognition from his fellow attorneys in Southern Nevada, including being named Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America in 2021-2023, Legal Elite in 2018 and 2020, as well as a Super Lawyers Mountain States Rising Star in 2020 and 2021.

Patrick spends most of his spare time with his wife and their children. He also enjoys playing guitar, hunting, hiking, skiing, and just about any outdoor activity.
